Distance Degrees in Preaching & Related Majors

You can now equip yourself to preach God’s Word—no matter where you live!

Preaching is both an art and a calling. It’s about faithfully interpreting God’s Word, communicating it clearly, and inspiring people to live it out. Whether you’re preaching weekly, preparing to enter ministry, or seeking to strengthen your communication of Scripture, effective preaching requires biblical depth, theological grounding, and a firm grasp of both people and culture.

In recent years, demand for flexible, practical ministry training has increased dramatically. Thankfully, preparing for this vital ministry has never been more accessible. Many Christian colleges, universities, and seminaries now offer undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in preaching and related fields through distance-learning formats. These flexible programs allow you to grow as a communicator of God’s truth—without stepping away from your current ministry or community.

These programs are designed to help you:

• Build a deep biblical and theological foundation for preaching and teaching.

• Develop skills in sermon preparation, exegesis, and delivery.

• Learn to communicate effectively across cultures, generations, and contexts.

• Integrate spiritual formation, leadership, and pastoral care into the preaching task.

Whether you’re pursuing a Bachelor’s in Ministry and Preaching, a Master of Divinity or Master of Arts in Homiletics, or a Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching or Communication, the degree programs below are tailored to fit your calling, your ministry context, and your schedule.

Below is a list of schools offering fully accredited degrees in preaching, communication, and related ministry areas that can be earned through distance learning (online, live synchronous, etc.).
